If Chu-e knew what was going through Elisabeth Fiorelli's head he would laugh at her.

Kanto was a long ways behind him. The man that Chu-e used to be had withered and died long before Necrozma got a hold of him. That was the reality of disease.

"I wish I knew what to look for, I guess." They could probably walk right into it's dick and he wouldn't know it.

Chu-e wracked his brain for anything.

"I just knew it was real fucking hungry."

But he doubted that was useful. After all, all it had tried to make him eat was Gavin.

Very, very good questions. Gavin was right to put his trust in Elisabeth Fiorelli.

Chu-e pauses stock still in his tracks, tilting his head back. Mentally, he reaches into his memory. Into the yawning void of what Necrozma was before it breached his body. In the distance, his Arcanine and Houndoom had given up the hunt, instead yipping to try and impress Clover.

"Hungry like for food." A pause. "No. It was starving." Even remembering the mental connection made his skin crawl.

The answer to the next question is easier but also harder.

"It made me attack Gav a few times. It tried to eat him."

"I tried to eat my friend Zac once, too. He was an Avatar." It just hadn't been as violent or as often as it tried to devour Gavin. It was probably due to proximity.

There was something else, though.

"Well, it wanted one other thing." It had wanted it more than it ever wanted Cillian Quinn. And it had wanted Gavin more than Tempest Quinn did. Turning, Chu-e faced Elisabeth Fiorelli. His eyes were sharp and cutting, when he looked into her. Through her.

"There was a crystal. A piece of Necrozma. The, uh... the original one. It made me eat it."

He still didn't know why.

The actual crystal grinding against his teeth, being ground to dust, was lost of Chu-e. It hadn't been him that ate it, in the end. It had been Necrozma using him as a puppet.

But Chu-e could answer the question.

This whole situation had happened because Chu-e licked the fragment. He had just wanted to be silly. To cheer up a dour friend.

"Kind of like glass. Except it felt kind of grainy. It was really cold." Not like ice. Just chilled. Weird.

Sighing, Chu-e starts to walk again. He was ignorant of Crystalblooms.

"I wish I knew someone who... knew about it, you know? Like, had some answers. It lived inside of me for at least a year before it took me over and I don't know shit."

THERE IS NO ONE ELSE THAT UNDERSTANDS NECROZMA better than its host. even then, chu-e’s insight is elementary at best. the byproduct of their shared time is an experience bottled underneath an abrupt blackout. despite what others may think, his consciousness was no more than a vacant spot in it’s timeline. he is unaware of what he did or where had had gone. not since his ‘death’.

the search in PETALBURG provides no fruit or merit. the city, at first glance, is no different than any other day. the hustle and bustle of the populace’s growing dread murmurs of METENO’s approach. the only mention of NECROZMA is the occasional reference to sootopolis. nothing fits the bill of what elisabeth and chu-e suspect to be this creature’s diet.

but chu-e knows it hungers. knows that such a feeling proves visceral in the pokemon’s pursuit of a primal need. that’s why it’s in GALAR. that’s why it is eating them out of house and home.

so what brought it to PETALBURG?



further inquiry into the supposed ‘reports’ will note that none of the claims came from within the city’s proper.

the outskirts to the west house a fantastic beachside. ROUTE 104 provides residents with the perfect environment to practice their MANTINE SURF. an online post encapsulates a trainer’s ire when they must forego their day off in lieu of ‘unnatural weather’.
